  • Today is the first day of spring sports
  • Congrats to women’s varsity soccer – they’re in the BCL playoffs
    • Wednesday in BCL west semifinal with marin away game
  • Basketball
    • Tomorrow both our varsity teams are hosting Athenian
    • Thursday is senior night 2/9
      • Thursday is a green and gold day
      • Game with café gift certificates

Shakespeare Monologue Contest – Ms. Yee

  • Tickets on sale on the fine arts box office
  • Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for adults
  • Have been working since the first week of school

LGBTQ+ Dance – Naoko

  • Branson has invited us to an LGBTQ+ centered dance
  • Saturday at 8 pm

Prom-wear Drive for Children’s Hospital – John Novogradac and Julia Milani

  • Prom at the Oakland Children’s Hospital for kids not fortunate enough to go to their prom
  • Please donate suits and other prom-wear
  • You can bring stuff to school and give it to us or bring it to us in Orinda
  • Doesn’t have to be prom dresses for dresses – just have to be nice enough to be worn at prom

Senior Play

  • Space Odyssey
  • 7 pm tonight

Ms. Fahey and Ms. Land

  • Challenging situation with the 605
    • Complaints about the driver
    • If you observe something going on that you think is disrespectful, film what is happening and share it with Ms. Fahey
    • You or your parents can file an actual complaint
    • It will go directly to the supervisor
    • Really important that you report back to us anything you think is not right

Monday Moment – Mr. Thiermann and Ms. Land

  • Tricky to decipher when to stay neutral and when to take a stance on national policy in the context of being an administration
    • Context of the executive order against immigrants and refugees
    • This executive order has resonated with a lot of students and teachers
  • The board and administration has decided that they would create a statement about the school’s stance on the executive order
    • This statement is about protecting individuals and emphasizing that students are safe
    • Note, we are not a sanctuary school though, since it would go against our nonprofit status
