Why do you want to attend Hawk’s Eye University (HEU)?
At seven years old, I somberly gaze at the rain trickling down the gothic windowpane. I pore over the yellowing manuscripts in the library of Hawk’s Eye University, reading the wisdom of iconic alums who have cemented their legacy within these books. They’re fearless and wise, just like I aspire to be. At HEU, I know I’m home.
HEU’s academic rigor, along with its driven student body and passionate educators, will propel me to my best possible future. Nowhere else is the alums’ average starting income leagues above those in competing universities. Here, my family legacy has already taken root, plastered on library plaques and buildings. With HEU’s resources, I’ll continue our generations-long legacy of advocating for scholarship, diversity, and citizenship.
Such a prestigious institution, HEU tops the US News rankings and truly leads the charts. I embody HEU’s excellence as a well-rounded leader myself. In elementary school, I outperformed my peers on spelling tests, math quizzes, and PE mile runs, all while learning to adopt a down-to-earth outlook towards life. I furthered my example-setting in middle school: Using my bare hands, I constructed countless wooden shelters for pigeons to shield them from human activity and the harsh California winter.
I strive to join HEU’s community of like-minded learners with their tenacious, uncomplacent work ethic. Now a high school senior, I fit 18 hours worth of hard work into the 16 hours I’m awake every day. My friends often compliment the dedication I pour into my various extracurriculars, which I won’t delve into for the sake of brevity and concision.
Two years ago, when I was lifting heavy crates in my local soup kitchen, I pulled my latissimus dorsi muscle. At HEU, I’d receive high quality mattresses that would soothe my chronic back pain. Not only does HEU provide plush furniture in dorms, but its housing system also promotes social connections. I’ll have the incredible opportunity to live with another student in a dorm room, so now, I won’t even have to emerge from my desk for social interaction. I know HEU’s system will help me forge lifelong bonds.
From STEM clubs to honors societies, niche social opportunities abound at HEU. Perhaps I’d even join the Hawk’s Eye Authenticity Club. After all, I hope to embrace my true community-oriented self at HEU. As I reflect on my potential and my future at HEU, I know seven-year-old me would be proud.
