To Whom It May Concern,

I am excited to recommend Fantasy Football as an engaging, and interactive way to enjoy the NFL season while building connections with others. Whether you’re a devoted football fan or just looking for a fun way to engage with friends, Fantasy Football offers a unique and enjoyable experience.

Fantasy Football is a game where participants draft real NFL players to create their own teams, earning points based on the players’ performances in actual games. As the manager of your team, you can make trades and pick up free agents throughout the season to maximize your team’s score each week.

One of the best aspects of Fantasy Football is how it brings people together. Harmony Ausiello, an Upper School Math Teacher, says she is in two Fantasy Football leagues, one with her family, and the other with her cousin advising at the School. When asked about how Fantasy Football has impacted her advising, Ausiello stated, “[Fantasy Football] has given us something to talk about other than school… It’s something that has brought us closer.”

This friendly competition adds an extra layer of excitement to the NFL season and makes Sundays a highlight of the week. “[Fantasy Football] makes it a lot more fun to watch football”, says Ausiello. Everyone gets involved in discussions about player stats, weekly matchups, and friendly smack talk.

To add more stakes to your Fantasy Football experience, you can add a first place reward, and a last place punishment. Senior Hayes Caruana mentions that his Fantasy Football league has a $20 buy-in, with the pot going to the first place winner.

As for last place punishments, Ausiello says that her family’s league penalizes the person who comes in last place by making them wear their favorite team’s rival jersey. Caruana adds that his league’s punishment requires the last place player to walk home without GPS, with the distance based on how many games they lost.

Some other fan favorite punishments are: Trick-Or-Treating in the spring/summer, and you can’t stop until you receive five pieces of candy. Another is running a lemonade stand for a day in a costume of the league winner’s choice. Lastly, the IHOP Challenge, where the loser must spend 24 hours in an IHOP, and each pancake they eat is an hour taken off their time.

Fantasy Football is all about having fun and enjoying the camaraderie it brings. It allows for friendly rivalry and bonding over shafted interests, making it a memorable experience for everyone involved. Fantasy Football is recommended to anyone looking to engage in a fun and social activity.

Sincerely,

The Hawk’s Eye
